The Small Changes You Need to Get Your S#*t Together

Are you as off track as I am right now? I feel like I am a hot mess these past few weeks and seriously need to get my s#*t together.

 

I’ve barely made it to the gym once a week, been rotating between going to bed ridiculously early (I am talking 8pm) or too late, not sleeping well, waking up exhausted, drinking too much coffee, and seriously overbooking my schedule.

 

Anyone else feeling this right now?

 

When I feel off track, I try to pinpoint where it’s coming from and then figure out what is in my control versus not. For me, I think it’s a combination of stress, the cold weather and grey skies (I am over winter), and a bit of pandemic fatigue.

 

My immediate thought is that I need a vacation, to move to the beach, an entire week of sleep, or just a complete overhaul on my schedule and priorities.

 

If you’re feeling this too, the reality is just some small changes will help with a reset. Also, realizing that everything cannot be the same highest priority.

 

What are some small changes you can make?

  • Not saying yes to everything – just to the most important things or the things you know will make you happy

  • Cutting back on the extra coffee

  • Setting an alarm to go to bed at the same time each night

  • Getting rid of distractions that are draining your time and energy

  • Eating energizing foods in place of foods that make you feel sluggish or slow

  • Planning a weekend getaway or trip

  • Scheduling yourself time to do something creative, pampering, or something that makes you happy
