October Theme: Connecting your Time + Purpose

Welcome fall! While I love the heat of summer, my favorite season is fall! There’s just something magical about the leaves changing color, the crisp air, and the smell of bonfires and toasted marshmallows! Not to mention all things pumpkin, football, and cozy hoodies!


October also kicks off the busiest time of the year, the holiday season. In prep for that, this month is going to focus on all things Time + Purpose to help you understand and break through feeling like you don’t have enough time and enter the holiday season feeling refreshed and clear!


“I don’t have time” is something that I hear over and over. Honestly, I have caught myself saying it, but what we do we REALLY mean (or want to say) when we say “I don’t have time”?


“I don’t have time” can truly mean any of these things:

  1. I genuinely have a ton of shit going on, and I cannot fit anything else into my schedule without losing my mind

  2. I’m not excited about it

  3. It’s not important enough to me

  4. It’s not a priority for me

  5. I’m not interested or I don’t want to


Yep, 3, 4, and 5 sound a little harsh, but I am all about the realness. It’s SO important to be honest with yourself and understand the true reason that you feel the need to explain how busy you are.

Let’s start with getting to that honest point by figuring out how you spend your time.

Grab a journal and answer these questions:

  • What are your top 10 interests/activities/things that bring you joy and happiness?

  • What are the top 10 things you spend your time doing?

  • How do these lists compare?

  • Do you have activities on your top 10 time activity list that don’t bring you joy and happiness? (Yes? Scary, right?)

  • How can you spend LESS time or ZERO time doing these things?

  • On the flip side, how can you spend more time doing the things that make you happy?

Now that you are thinking about how you are spending your time and if these things are REALLY making you happy, continue to add to your lists throughout the week. We are going to dive into some practical tools and action plans this month to help you create a schedule based on the things you love to do!
