How to Stop Getting Distracted From Your Goals

You have your goals, your plan, and your why, and you are on a roll. All of a sudden, you find your focus derailed from your plan, and you are settling back into some comfy habits.

 

What happened? Sometimes LIFE happens and things that are out of our control, but other times we are just distracted by the day to day things – work, fun, and the always present screens.

 

My big culprits are my phone (I love a group text lol), fun, and my brain going in 100 directions at once. 

So how do you get re-focused?

 

  • Check in with your plan – is it realistic (are there enough hours in the day/week to do what you need to do)?

 

  • Are your goals prioritized? So when you need to make a decision about how to spend your time, it’s easy – you pick your highest priority.

 

  • What is distracting you?  Is the distraction truly making you happy? I hear from SO many people that they will lose hours scrolling social media and really not get any true enjoyment or value from it. Side note – it’s ok to unfollow/unfriend what’s no longer serving you!

 

  • Is the distraction a bad habit you want/need to change?
