How to Spring Clean your Mindset

Cleaning out closets and clutter is amazing and good for the soul, but do those negative thoughts floating around your head also need decluttered and thrown away?

 

You know the thoughts. They creep in and ruin your mood, your day, and your self-confidence.

 

They are holding you back from trying something new, starting a conversation, sharing an idea, expressing your feelings, and chasing your dreams.

Would you say these things to a friend or someone you care about? Of COURSE not!

 

So why are you saying or thinking these things about yourself?  They aren’t true. We are our own worst (and very unfair) critic. So, how can you make a change?

 

Flip the script on yourself!

 

Here’s a step by step:

  • The first step is recognizing the negative thoughts when they creep in.

  • Write down the thought

  • Then, write out all the reasons why it’s not true

  • From your brain dump of reasons, create a sentence that you can say to yourself as a daily affirmation and also as a rebuttal when that pesky negative thought pops back into your brain
